Minutes DIY : Easy Kid's Qulling Tools

Today, I made these for the girls...
Could you guess what is it?

Errr... No, they are not chopsticks...here some hints...
it's something to do with strips of paper...

Yup!  It's a 'kids version - quilling tools' for Mei Mei and Jojo.  Jojo saw some quilling crafts
in the library the other day and I thought it would be fun for them to give it a try.

Here is how I made this kids friendly quilling tool for them.
I cut the bamboo skewer into 2.5" length..
Wrap on end with sticky brown paper
Wrap a few round until the rolls thickness about 1.5mm
Wrap in the other skewer and wrap both firmly together and it's ready for some quilling fun!
I customized each piece with some fun sticky tape so Mei Mei and Jojo
will be able to identify their tool.

Now... Let's see how the girls did on their first 'lesson'!
The uneven length seem to allow easier tape insert...

I showed the girls how the tools works...but I guess they prefer their ways!

It's a very quiet morning...the girls spend hours 'concentrating' in their new project!

These are some of the results...

The final outcome of the craft.
Glue it up and sprinkle some glitter on top!
