Just sharing - Never fried your OREO if you really LOVE them!

Last weekend, my lovely niece told me that
she tasted a new snack when she visited
a snack bar after a movie with her friends.

It's "Deep fried Oreo" and according to her
it's absolutely amazing!

My kids love Oreo and I love to try new stuff...

So, this afternoon we tried out that "recipe"
I goggled a little about the how to...
Sound super simple and easy

After few minutes...
The warm crunchy pieces are in front of the kids...

First day at school...

Oh, dear.  I've been missing for quite sometimes.  Please forgive me...but if you happened to be a mom...especially and SAHM...you will definitely understand.  School holidays ...Christmas holidays...New Year holidays....are meant for kids...teenagers...singles...dads...but definitely not for moms...those are the busiest moments of the whole years.  Because at those days...the cooking...washing...cleaning...are EVEN MORE and NEVER ENDS!!!

So, wish you all a great new year....2013!!! Which ends all the 'end of the world' stories!!!..  Hmm, wonder what 'date' will they come up next?

So, what 'BIG' happening at my corner of the world?  Well, it definitely is "BACK TO SCHOOL"!

This year, Mei Mei turns 7 years old and she is joining Jojo
to attend primary school.  Jojo is in Primary Yr 3 this year.

Jojo and her 'shapes' assignment!

Last evening, Jojo 'bring' a last minutes assignment from school...

TITLE

"Creatively combine 3D shapes into an item"

Honestly...I love 'handwork' and project require creativity and imagination...

but...one evening notice...Urghhh.....

Do I have any problem?

Not really...but I just send a big batch of paper, carboard...etc to the recycle centre...

Why...whenever the trash bin in cleared????

What ever...

At last...Jojo made it...
(with a little help from me...I just love to participate in craft work project!)

We manage to clear out a shoe box, some bottle caps,
cardboard and some biscuit wrapper...

Here it is...

No...it's not a house...
(someone in the class has taken this idea )

is not a building...
(mama don't have enough box of different shapes...:p)

is not a robot...

it's a.....

Camera!!!

can you see the box from candles and
the little square one is the squash ball box.

the lens is a potatoes chip cylinder tube

My 'pumpkin' project...

Pumpkin seems to fill the pages of Pinterest lately
Jojo and I can't help but to try our hands
to do something related to 'it'.

And we did a minutes DIY today...
I always adore decor in small scale
So, in the beginning,
we try to source some some baby pumpkin
from local stores and markets...

But...no luck.

And pumpkins are not cheap too..

So, this morning when I was busy filled up the groceries stock in the kitchen
Jojo gave me a big shout when she came into the kitchen.

"MOM!!! PUMPKIN!  BABY PUMPKIN!"

I was thinking "What the ...until I saw what she was pointing at...
Those white garlic I just bought from the market.

Yes, some of them do have the looks of a mini size pumpkin
and with the help of some imagination ... I guess it's possible...

5 minutes DIY - Hello Kitty Sunglass

Hi!  I'm back again...
The weather is still very bad...
and the haze is still hanging there...

Luckily, there was a 15 minutes heavy down pour this morning...
so, the air is cleared a bit...

Well, as long as it didn't get any worse...
it's still something to be grateful for, right?

So, in order to 'fight' the hot weather...
I make something 'cool' for Mei Mei...
(Thanks for reminding me about 'cool' Mich!)

This project is inspired by Khadijah from Creative Mind,
her DIY Bling-Bling Spectacle Project is simple but so fun and stylish too!

Now
This is the BEFORE

It's a simple plain kid's sun glass

I bought it at RM1.50 (USD 0.50) from a local shop.
with UV protection!!! Seriously?

Anyway, I like it...
I thought about adding some rhinestones and
washi tapes at the beginning...

Perfect Toast for Mother's Day!

Days ago, I came across a pretty fancy toast by a "Pop Art" Toaster.
It looks so fun and the kids definitely will love it.

I didn't got the toaster but it did inspired me for this fun project
that you can do with your little ones on this coming Mother's Day!

So, with my ordinary toaster and 'weird creativity',
the girls and I made these during breakfast this morning.

When my pom poms is not round...

I've seen a very simple smart way of making pom poms using a fork from Pinterest and thought I should give it a try...but sometime...the reality and the expectations may not be tally....this is how my pom poms turn out...this is actually my third try... and still very bad in 'shape'...it's not close to round at all... :P!

I feel so miserable for 'wasting' so much of my precious -last roll- of red yarn... and just before I was about to throw the 'scraps' into the dustbin... Mei Mei and Jojo came over...."Mom!  Can we have them?  We can use them for our cooking games...these look yummy...just like berries!"  Oh dear!  I really love my girls.... cause they just gave me an idea..."Let's mommy make them look even more yummy for you!   Just give me a few minutes"

So...here it what I did...

I trim the pom poms a little bit more...and add some green ribbon on the top

Then, sew on a few little greenish beads...
This is how it looks like...

A cute strawberry!!!

And where should I put them.... Well, after the girls finished 'cooking' them....I add some ribbon bows and a button (that's all I got...I should use a cute button...but I have none)...and here they are...

Till then
Bye
