6 refashion ideas to make your old jeans... more fun to wear!

Hi, again!

Sorry for such a long silence....
Everything is super duper fine here...
I just got 'caught' up with some new 'routines'

As part of my this year new year resolution...
I'm now 'taking out' some of my blogging times...for my 'physical' and 'spiritual' wellness!!!
So far...It has been 2 months ... successfully control my diet,

Have 'proper' breakfast' before 9am in the morning
(previously, I prepared everything, and just took the 'left over' from the kids!!!, Yup!)

Have a 40 minutes session with Tracy Anderson
I love her exercise especially her - arm routines.

Try to have a short 30 minutes nap in the afternoon

At least a nice and quiet bubble every 2-3 days....
( to wash away all my stress!!!)

Take a short walk with my hubby after dinner...
(and let the kids clean the dishes for me!!!)

go to bed before 11pm every night

(I know... but I can't help to check my FB and blog before sleep!!)

So, how about you all who are sitting in front of the screen?
Did you do anything for 'YOURSELF' today?
Well, you should and you deserve it, dear!

Ok!  Since, I'm already here...
I want to share with you my recent 'project's

Recently, I'm a bit 'crazy' about jeans....
but, instead of buying a new pair....I decided to do some 'update' with my old ones...

Here are some ideas I have in mind...

#1 ) Dangle Fringe

It's always fun to wear something that dangle...don't you agree?

#2)  Lace and pearls

Old T for New Top! ...and NO SEW!!!

The cruel weather is just too hot to beat...

I simply can't find anything 'cool' to wear from my wardrobe.

All those T-shirts make my body temperature raised just by looking at them!

I don't think I'm going to wear anything with sleeves and small neckline

for the rest of my life...unless I move out from this tropical region!

Come and join my desperate attempt to 'cool' myself to beat the heat!

This is what I did today!

5 minutes DIY - Hello Kitty Sunglass

Hi!  I'm back again...
The weather is still very bad...
and the haze is still hanging there...

Luckily, there was a 15 minutes heavy down pour this morning...
so, the air is cleared a bit...

Well, as long as it didn't get any worse...
it's still something to be grateful for, right?

So, in order to 'fight' the hot weather...
I make something 'cool' for Mei Mei...
(Thanks for reminding me about 'cool' Mich!)

This project is inspired by Khadijah from Creative Mind,
her DIY Bling-Bling Spectacle Project is simple but so fun and stylish too!

Now
This is the BEFORE

It's a simple plain kid's sun glass

I bought it at RM1.50 (USD 0.50) from a local shop.
with UV protection!!! Seriously?

Anyway, I like it...
I thought about adding some rhinestones and
washi tapes at the beginning...

Moss Clog for Spring?

We don't have Spring here,
but the weather is just nice with lot of rain fall.

All the greens in my tiny garden looks healthier than ever.
The pepper seeds and some others flowers seedling
I placed earlier...months ago, which I thought 'didn't make it',
all 'show up' unexpectedly!

This morning, Mei Mei has her clog caught up with
some grass.  She came running into the kitchen and show me...
"Mom, I have moss growing on my clog"

And it sound such a lovely idea!
So, I make this for her.

How to stretch Jeans at the Waist! Easy n Low Sew!

I have a few old jeans in my wardrobe that I absolutely love, but I don't wear them anymore because my waistline doesn't seems 'willing' to get back to it original measurement since I have my children.

I know there are dozens of way how we can 'recycle or upcycled' an old pair of jeans, but the best way I prefer is to be able 'wear' them again!

So, this is what I did!  This is a very simple, easy, low sew project to 'upsized' the waistline of your jeans.  I managed to expand the waistline another 1~2 inches in this way.  And the result...even much lovely that the old jeans...see the AFTER ...

and this below is the BEFORE
(the very beginning was a long one,
the second life was a capri...
the third life was a shorts as shown here...)

Another refashion story : 1 Jumpsuit = 2 Easy Peasy Aprons

Hi, again!
Remember the old-non wearable shorts jumpsuit I have ...
after I recyled the front pocket for Jojo's tote bag...

I'm not so sure what to do with it

I don't have any plan...
So, I just cut away the bottom seam of the shorts
and rolled into a simple 'flower'...
but I still not very happy with it

Now, what to do with the 'leftover' of the jumpsuit?
As you can see...I still clueless...
So, I use a seam ripper to disconnect the front and the back panel of the jumpsuit
Yup!!! And there it was!  I absolutely know what to do with them now!!!

Step #1
Remove the side seam of your jumpsuit
to produce a front and back panel

Step #2
Sew two pieces of  2 ~ 3 feet long strap about an inch width.

Step #3
Attach the straps on the back panel of the jumpsuit

Step#4
Ask your daughter to help you with the camera while you 'model' the result!
Like this.

I am actually wearing the back panel of the jumpsuit!

Old Jean New Bag...

Jojo always has 2 bags for school
One backpack for the text and stationeries
and one tote for the exercise books.

The totally weight plus the water bottle ....
I think it heavier than Mei Mei body weight

Anyway...last week Jojo complaint about her shoulder getting painful
caused by the shoulder straps of the tote bag
(it's a non woven tote bag given by the school)

Well... When I was searching around to buy her a new one...
her sweet daddy throw out a few old jeans from the closet...
they are declared as 'out of measurement' on the waist line...

Just my luck... another great chance for new adventure...
I never sewn a bag before...and this is the perfect chance.

Sorry, I didn't prepare the tutorial...
I've no plan, no paper pattern, no measurement...and just cut and paste and sew by 'heart'...
After an hour ...

This is it...
I 'dismantle' one old jean...
Using the 'trunk' for body and reuse the pockets
At first, I was thinking to use the top part with zip and pocket...
but I guess it will to 'weird' to see Jojo 'wear' her father jean on the shoulder?
I match some blue check cotton for the shoulder strap just to add a little color
I know I should have add some lace or ribbon,
but the school don't welcome something too fancy...
So, I just leave it plain and simple...

Spice up a bit with an old hang tag...
with some stickers for some love...

Crafts for a cause...

Hi! I'm so so excited to share with you that I have been invited to sponsor some goods for Mei Mei school charity night.  I love to craft and try new projects...and this is my best chance - to crafts and to do charity at the same time.  There are so many stuffs I want to make, I wish I can make all the projects I pinned in my Pinterest boards...Oh dear, can you feel how excited I am?  All the sales will be donate to the charity fund for the needy and make this coming Chinese New Year a bit easier and joyful for them.

These are some of the little 'flower's I made ... I'm going to fix them onto small hair pin and clips for hair accessories.  I've seen the tutorial in Pinterest but sometimes seeing and doing is totally different thing - why the tutorial looks so easy ...Grrrrr...but this is not going to stop me!  Check out my first 'product' - Kanzashi Fabric Flower ...I picked this one because it's such a nice style to match with little girls Chinese New Year outfit...

This is my second product - "Puffy flower"
This one I use the top...

The second one I used the bottom where I tied the fabric...What do you think?

The puffy flowers are so easy to made...I made dozen of them
extra for Mei Mei and JoJo!

These are for my little sister...she have a dinner to attend during
the Chinese New Year holiday...and I made her these
to go with her purple red evening wear!

I'll share the tutorial for the flower later...
See you...
Now, I'm going back to 'business'!
Wish me luck for the sale!

I'll be selling these flower online too...
let me know if you would like to have any of them!

Mei Mei new leggings...

Mei Mei is always a big fan of leggings.  But cute and fun leggings for little girls are not cheap here, simple plain leggings price from RM9.90 to RM19.90 (ofcourse the price can be higher if you look for branded type).  I have been sourcing up and down new leggings for Mei Mei as her old ones are too small or too old already.  My hunt ended when I come across a great bargain of leggings in a local thrift store - Ecosave... it only cost RM2.90 per piece... so I grabs nearly dozen of them in different color and pattern.

Here are some of them... rather boring, right?

So, when Mei Mei and Jojo were off to school today,
this is what I did...
with a little ribbons, buttons, sequins...
Pom poms

Flowers...

Some more ribbon...

Can guess which is Mei Mei favorite?

Now 5 done and still few to go...
Need some idea.... What to do other than ribbons and buttons?...

Update you once I figure that out!
