Oh dear... I'm absolutely so naive, stupid, silly, whatever ... when I started to place PayPal's 'donate' button on my blog. All I ask for is just a penny...but...now only I found out that...for each donation transaction into my PayPal account.... PayPal is going to charge me 3.9% + MYR 2.00 (USD 0.80)! I guess I have to find another way to collect fund for my 'craft-for-cause'.
Anyway, when I searched the web for a better alternative of accepting donations or selling stuffs with small price...I come across a very useful article about how to reduce your PayPal Fees...Well, it doesn't really helpful to me...but I think it would be very useful for merchants for US to US, GB to GB, AU to AU, and EU to EU
transactions for Business and Premier accounts.
PayPal actually have another tools for those who are selling items for less than $12. It's called "Micropayment". This feature is offered
at a special rate of 5% + $0.05 per transaction.
Click here if you want to know more about how to create a Micropayment with PayPal. And here is the link to the article I came across. It explain how you can create the Micropayment account in detail.
I hope this post be able to help you crafters out there who sell your crafts for less than $12!!!
I welcome any suggestion how can I accept small amount donations online...yup, I still think donation should start small....in a penny!
See you again!
Love
Hi
ReplyDeleteThanks for this info......I had no idea that this option existed.
Michelle :o)
Thanks, PC - I also didn't know this! I'm glad you figured out the charge from PayPal before you got too many expensive donations! Hmm, I wish I had a good suggestion.
ReplyDeleteMaybe...if you want to help a charity that you support, you could have a button for that charity on your blog? And suggest that people donate directly to them. I did that last year for a time, after the Tsunami.
Thanks so much! I didn't know that Paypal offered this option. A lot of the payments I receive are under $12.00. Now I will save some money!
