DIY -Fun with Zip to Bib!

Hi again.  I was reorganizing my craft & DIY materials yesterday and found a box of old ribbons, zips and others stuff in a small box in a lower part of the shelf.  Actually, I totally forgotten about them! ( I should have do housekeeping in my crafting area more often!)

So, these are what I found..pretty messy huh?  Well, I never really did bought them, most of them I actually took from the old dresses and blouse that I send for recycle centre.( I am a thrifty mom, remember?)

I was thinking what can I do with them, so I started to fold and twist them around like this and that... I was thinking about making some 'home-made accessories' for Jojo and Mei Mei dress up party.  They always love to dress up...girlssssss.

Please take note that the inner and the outer surface of the zip is different, and it will give different impact when you fold the zip using different side.  You have to be consistent when folding the pattern.  I prefer fold the zip face in (left one in the above picture).

Well, I kind of like the way the zip look when I fold and press them together like making ribbons' flower.  I started to fixed the shape by sew a small stitch on the area I hold.  Then, some more different pattern, some more in different colour of zip and I ended up with these....

I think they look nice, but I have got any idea what to do with them...hmmm

Should I stitch them to gather and make a garland? or wall arts? table mats?....My mind running wild again.
May be I can use them to decorate the little hat clip I bought for Jojo sometimes ago...

At last, I ended up with this.  Sort of zip necklace.

Yes, I stitched the pattern together and sew both ends with some black lace ribbons.  I tied a satin ribbon on the where I combine the, just want the finish look to be neat.   Sorry, my workmanship is pretty..... bad because I did it in a hurry, just can wait to show it to you all, haha!
It look better if you have the zip connected to the small colour ribbon

Well,  this can the a nice present for my mom on this coming mother's day.  Please wish me good luck.. she is a very picky woman (like me :)!!!)

Hope you enjoy this as much as I do  ...and do drop a line in the comment column so I can see what you have come out with this idea!
